Beating the Octo Shower Boss in Splatoon 2

Recommended Videos

The Octo Shower is the fourth boss you’ll encounter in Splatoon 2, and is probably one of the toughest foes in the game. If you’re great at handling the Hero Shot (the upgraded sniper rifle), this fight will be a little easier for you. If not, it might take some getting used to.

At the start of the fight, make your way up the building nearest to the boss and start taking aim at the Octarians holding the boss up. Time your shots carefully, and remember to charge the weapon fully before firing. Not charging it will decrease your range and power by quite a bit, giving the enemy more time and opportunity to hit you instead. Once you’ve shot down all three Octarians, you’ll be able to take some easy shots at the tentacle.

The next phase will feature a total of four Octarians holding up the boss. You’ll want to shoot them down, but the Octo Shower will start using an ink spray attack which can kill you very easily if you don’t dodge it. Make sure to keep following the boss by swimming up the buildings closest to it. Take down the Octarians, and then shoot the tentacle.

The final phase is the trickiest, as the the Octarians will start strafing to dodge your shots. The Octo Shower boss still has the same attacks, but it’ll be a lot more aggressive now. Your goal here is still to shoot down all four Octarians while following the boss. Prioritize dodging enemy attacks, and only shoot when it’s safe. Don’t forget that the Hero Shot can store your charge, so don’t feel pressurized to take aim immediately after charging.
