It’s no secret that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild suffers from serious frame rate drops when playing in docked mode on the Nintendo Switch. While it’s not a persistent problem, it usually occurs when there’s a lot going on in the game itself, or when you’re in particularly grassy areas. The frame drops are less obvious when playing in handheld mode, but they exist there too.
According to Nintendo Life, an anonymous Switch game developer has suggested that these frame drops might be a result of the console constantly trying to connect to your Wi-Fi network. If you turn off the Auto-Connect function on your console, this could actually alleviate a little bit of a problem. While I haven’t seen much of a difference between turning the function on or off, the dev also states that Nintendo is aware of the problem and they’re working on a proper fix for it. What have your experiences with the console been like? Feel free to let us know in the comments down below.
The Nintendo Switch is now available for purchase.
