The trailer details the film’s rich graphics and motion capturing technology, illustrating the film’s emotional battle between the Kingdom of Lucis and King Regis’ Kingsglaive forces, and the antagonist, Nifelheim led by Emperor Iedolas Aldercapt. Some creatures from Final Fantasy XV, such as behemoths and Nifelheim cybernetic soldiers are also shown.

Announced during Square Enix’s Uncovered Final Fantasy XV special live stream, Kingsglaive is a feature film set to help explain the events that transpire outside from Noctis’ story – specifically, the peace treaty signed at King Regis’ Kingdom of Lucis. As such, Noctis and his friends will not be featured in the film.

Kingsglaive also has a high-profile cast, including Game of Thrones’ Lena Headley as Lunafreya; Sean Bean as King Regis; and Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul as Regis’ personal guard, Nyx. Check out the trailer below.

The film will release in selected theatres on August the 19th.
