The Division: How to Get Target Intel and Where to Use it

This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

The Division’s Conflict patch has released, and has brought with it a bunch of new mechanics and systems for players to use in their fight to regain New York City. Part of the new additions is a brand new currency called Target Intel. This currency is needed to find the whereabouts of the new High Value Targets.

To get Target Intel you’ll need to put in a bit of work. It isn’t incredibly difficult, but if you’ve ignored PvE outside of the story, you have a long road ahead of you. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Reach Agent Level 30.
  2. Complete all Encounters and Side Missions in an area. This will unlock a brand new Search and Destroy mission for that location.
  3. Head to the Safe House and complete the new mission.
  4. Each section of Search and Destroy will reward you with Target Intel.

After you’ve gotten some of the new currency, head over to the Base of Operations to talk to an HVT Officer (inside security wing). From this person, you can purchase contracts using the Target Intel you’ve acquired. The contracts range in price from 5 Intel – 40 Intel with scaling rewards.

These aren’t your typical targets, though, as each presents a healthy challenge, and some require a full team of Agents to take down. If you die during a contract you’ll have to repurchase it, so make sure to save some up.
