Not as great as we hoped.

After a short week in beta, Metal Gear Online has officially launched for PC. Metal Gear Online has been available to those on consoles since October 2015.

After facing an issue where players were able to find a exploit, obtaining the in-game currency that could be bought with real money for free, the beta went down shortly to fix the issue. After it went back up for only a few more days, an official announcement was posted on the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Steam News thread. The post goes on to state:

“We’re excited to see a brand new burgeoning pvp community on PC with Metal Gear Online. It’s likewise thrilling to add another community of players to our upcoming MGO DLC and update plans. 2016 is shaping up to be an exciting year for MGO, and with your continued support we’ll take it even further!”

Trying to find a way to bring people into the game, Konami is offering 3000 Gear Points to anyone who plays a match between 1/19 and 1/26.

The patch sits at 1GB, but the entire download is 3.7GB for those that didn’t touch the beta.

As of right now the largest problem in the community is that the Push to Talk option in the menu has been removed. It’s unknown at this time whether it was intentional or not, but those on the Steam community are currently asking for it. Another issue being brought up is bad spawn points.

If you are playing Metal Gear Online on PC, let us know what you think of it, and if there are any major problems that you find in it.
