What Is the Opening Song in The Quarry? Answered

A moonlight drive listening to Moonlight!

Wondering what the opening song is in The Quarry as Max and Laura drive down a long, winding road through the forest at night? This opening cutscene is very cinematic, and the beautiful song that accompanies it — which turns out to be coming from the car’s radio — only helps to elevate the rather romantic scene as the car weaves its way through the trees.

The Quarry’s Intro Song Explained

The song that is playing as the car drives down the moonlight-soaked road at the beginning of The Quarry is Moonlight by Ariana Grande.

You might have recognized the pop star’s iconic voice from just the first few bars and not know what the song was. Or you might just not be familiar with the artist’s music, but found this song to be rather beautiful and catchy, as we did!

Moonlight was the title track for Grande’s Dangerous Woman album released back in 2016. The album reached number 2 on the Billboard 200, only surpassed by Drake’s Views.

You can listen to Ariana Grande’s Moonlight on Spotify and Apple Music.

The Quarry features a number of other licensed songs to bring the game’s world to life. The teens can be heard listening to tracks around the campfire towards the beginning of the game, and other licensed tracks play over some cutscenes throughout the game.
