Where to Find Ancient Death Rancor in Elden Ring

This Sorcery is located in the Liurna of the Lakes region, and it’s defended by a creature that can be tough to take down, depending on your current level. Before we go into more detail on that troublesome creature, we’ll provide the exact location. Go to the spot on the map at night to find what you’re looking for.

The map below will show you where to look in order to find the Ancient Death Rancor. It’s just south of the Gate Town North Site of Grace and east of Raya Lucaria Academy.

The item will drop from a Death Rite Bird after it’s defeated. There are four of these monstrous birds scattered across the Lands Between, much like the Night’s Cavalry enemy.

As with most enemies that can fly, it’s important to stay locked on to the Death Rite Bird whenever it leaves the ground. It’s also not a good idea to fight it while riding Torrent since most of its attacks will land if you can’t dodge.

Try to use Holy damage here, as the Death Rite Birds are weak to it. This means using Holy Ashes of War like Sacred Blade, Hoy Water Pots, and Holy damage Incantations like Litany of Proper Death.

Ancient Death Rancor Requirments

To use this Sorcery, the price is a bit steep for those who are putting most of their points into just a few stats. It requires 34 INT and 24 FAI to use and will cost 24 FP on each cast.

Ancient Death Rancor isn’t the best Sorcery when it comes to dealing damage, but it produces a ton of projectiles that home in on enemies. So, despite the low damage relative to the high investment cost, the attack will usually hit its target and also have PvP opponents constantly dodging to avoid being staggered.
