Tunic: How to Sleep & Change Time of Day

I’ve seen it, you’ve seen it. We’ve all seen it. There’s a bed in one of the houses, and that’s got many people wondering how to sleep in Tunic and whether there’s a day/ night system at play in the game. In this guide, we’ll explain everything you need to know about sleeping in Tunic and why it’s important to change the time of day.

Sleeping to Change Time of Day in Tunic

To sleep in Tunic, you need to go to the old house in the main overworld section and press A when standing by the bed.

The old house is marked on your map, making it fairly easy to find, shown in the screenshot below:

You’ll know you’ve found the right building as there are wind chimes and a telescope on it.

When you reach here, you’ll find the bed in the corner of the room.

Press A when stood next to it and our foxy little friend will take a quick nap.

Upon waking up, the time of day will have changed. So if it was nighttime, it will now be daytime and vice-versa.

It’s worth noting that you can’t sleep in bed until you’ve beaten the final boss. Attempting to do so beforehand simply won’t cause the button prompt to appear when standing by the bed.

Why Changing Time of Day Is Important

This is particularly important for accessing different areas of the world. For example, exploring in the daytime will grant you access to parts of the world that are blocked off by obstacles at night, while exploring at nighttime will reveal spirit bridges that aren’t there in the day.

Once you’ve beaten the main story of Tunic, this will become more and more important, as it’ll allow you to continue on with the various secret post-game content, though we won’t spoil exactly what that is here.
