Let’s jump right in. For starters, you need to have beaten the main mission of the game. Ideally, we’re not spoiling anything in the game aside from the fact that, well, yes, you can catch Arceus. We’re assuming you knew that one already; otherwise, you wouldn’t have risked clicking on this article.

You’ll know you’re done once you’ve reached the mission, A New Day Dawns. You’re going to need to start the mission, The Researcher of Myths given to you by Captain Cyllenne in Galaxy HQ.

From here, the path to getting Arceus is straightforward but long. You’ll need to complete a string of missions that will follow one after the other, taking you on a tour of Hisui/Sinnoh, snatching up all the legendary Pokemon you’re missing to fill out your Pokedex.

Upon the conclusion of these missions, you’ll get the Azure Flute and the final mission, The Deified Pokemon. On paper, it’s a simple mission. Go to the Temple of Sinnoh and play the Azure Flute.

Again, we won’t spoil exactly what happens, but the bottom line is you’re going to be in an arena balm battle with Arceus.

This isn’t Dark Souls, although Pokemon Legends Arceus pretends to be sometimes, so the battle won’t be too difficult for anyone that has gotten this far in the game already. Use the same tactics you’ve been doing in these types of fights. Use your dodge roll to pass through attacks, and then whip it in the face with balms to whittle its health down when you have the chance.

Arceus, unsurprisingly, is the most aggressive. So for this one, take it easy if you’re having a hard time; avoid hitting him with balms when he’s shooting balls of energy from its head. You’ll know it when you see it.
