Lost Ark is an MMOARPG that’s just been released in English-speaking territories, and it features an in-depth combat system that takes some cues from the action RPG roots of the Diablo series. Set in the world of Arkesia, players must hunt down and locate the titular lost ark and prevent it from falling into enemy hands. Here’s how to change your outfit and character appearance in Lost Ark.
Can You Change Character Appearance in Lost Ark?
First off, at the time of writing, it is not possible to change your character’s physical appearance in the game. Because of this, we recommend spending as much time as you need in the character creator to make sure that your avatar looks exactly the way you want them to. Once you’ve created your character, you won’t be able to make any changes to their hair or facial features.
However, you do still have some say over their outfits and overall appearance.
Changing Character Outfits & Clothes
- To change your character’s outfit, simply change their gear and equipment.
Press the I key to bring up your inventory, then right-click on a piece of gear to have them equip it. Every piece of gear is slightly distinct from each other, and will alter your character’s outfit slightly. Of course, as you’re leveling up and working your way through the story, you’ll be changing out your gear frequently so you can expect your appearance to change quite a bit.
- There’s no transmog or glamour system in this game, though the endgame content does offer some spiffier-looking armor sets.
Unlike in other MMORPGs like WoW or FFXIV, there’s no way to transmog your armor to make it take on the appearance of other clothing items in the game, which means you need to make do with whatever you have equipped. That said, once you reach the endgame content at level 50, you’ll have access to much better-looking pieces of armor that can help make your character look a bit more unique.
As it stands, there’s not a whole ton of character customization to play around with once you’ve started the game proper. Again, we recommend spending enough time in the character creator to get your character done perfectly before starting on your journey.
