YuGiOh Master Duel hit the ground running with people across the world are jumping on consoles and PCs to play this digital version of the classic physical card game from Konami. Is YuGiOh Master Duel Crossplay?

Before getting too deep in the weeds, you should know that Master Duel has some crossplay features but not others. Down below we’ll dig into the specific features to let you know exactly what you can and can’t do in the game.

Cross Progression

Yes, YuGiOh Master Duel has cross-progression across multiple platforms with a couple of important caveats. First, in order to carry progression between multiple consoles or between consoles and PC, you’ll need to create a Konami ID. You can’t just use your Facebook, Google, or Twitter credentials to back up your save data. But this Konami ID will track all of your progress no matter where you play.

On top of that, any paid gems that you purchase on a specific platform stay on that platform. Offline solo duels and online matches will reward you with handfuls of free gems that can move between consoles and PC. But any gems that are labeled as “paid” will be tied to the platform where they were purchased. You can learn more about the game’s microtransactions in this guide.

Crossplay

The short answer to this one is also yes but again with one small catch. If you queue up for an online match, then you’ll be thrown into the mix against other players on all available platforms. The one catch is that there’s no way to limit matchmaking to specific platforms. However, that’s probably a good thing since it opens up opportunities for finding opponents with different decks, faster matchmaking, and in theory, it prevents platform-specific metas from forming.

That’s all there is to know about the question is YuGiOh Master Duel crossplay? As of right now, just the console and PC versions have been launched. It’ll be interesting to see if anything changes in terms of skill levels once the game launches on iOS and Android.
