Getting Ophiotauros Hide in FFXIV Endwalker

Ophiotauros Hide is a rare drop from the Ophiotauros mobs found in Elpis, at coordinates X:15, Y:9. All you have to do is start slaying them, and you might get a few Hides if you’re lucky enough. However, it’s worth noting that the drop rates are pretty bad, so you could end up spending hours farming to get the amount you need.

A much easier method of obtaining them is by purchasing them from Gemstone Traders. There are three Gemstone Trader NPCs that sell them, as listed below:

  • Aisara: Elpis – Anagnorisis (X:24.5, Y:23.5)
  • Gadfrid: Old Sharlayan – The Agora (X:13, Y:10.5)
  • Sajareen: Radz-at-Han – West Balshahn Bazaar (X:11, Y:10)

The Traders will sell you one Ophiotauros Hide for two Bicolor Gemstones, which can be farmed very easily simply by participating in and completing FATEs in any of the Endwalker zones.

How to Use Ophiotauros Hide

Ophiotauros Hide is used as a crafting material in Final Fantasy XIV, and it can be refined to create Ophiotauros Leather. The Leather itself is used to craft various tools like fishing rods, as well as armor.

If you’re not planning on leveling up your Leatherworker, you don’t really have to worry about farming the Hides and crafting the Leathers. However, crafted gear can sell for quite a bit of Gil on the marketboard depending on your server, so that’s something to keep in mind as well.

That’s all you need to know about how to get Ophiotauros Hide in FFXIV Endwalker. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
