Lost Judgment: How to Charge the EX Gauge

Lost Judgment is a direct sequel to 2019’s Judgment, the action game from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, and it once again follows the story of Takayuki Yagami, a private detective tasked with taking on various dark cases for his clients. Aside from just regular detective work, Yagami will also need to engage in a few combat encounters from time to time, and thankfully, the combat in this game is pretty solid. Here’s how to charge the EX gauge in Lost Judgment.

Charging the EX Gauge in Lost Judgment

The melee combat in Lost Judgment is pretty much the same as it was in its predecessor; Yagami can unleash powerful melee combos on his foes, and even make use of the objects and his surroundings to deal additional damage with EX Attacks. Of course, to do this, you’ll first need to charge up your EX gauge.

The gauge itself will charge up slowly as you attack enemies in combat and take damage. The longer a battle goes on far, the more your gauge will fill up. You can also unlock abilities to speed up the charge rate, such as Liquid Courage, Liquid Bravery, and Liquid Valor. Whenever Yagami is drunk, these abilities will allow his gauge to go up much faster than usual.

Aside from that, you’ll also want to invest your smoking skills in the ability tree. This allows your gauge to charge up whenever Yagami is smoking, which means that you can refill it even as you’re walking around town with a cigarette. You can also earn and unlock skills that are either tailored to each class or individual ones that will slow the rate the EX gauge decreases and ones that will make it charge up quicker.

By unlocking all of these abilities, your EX gauge will charge up quickly passively, ensuring that you’ll always be able to use an EX Attack whenever you do enter a combat encounter. This can be very helpful in clearing fights, so we definitely recommend unlocking those as soon as you can.

That’s all you need to know about how to charge the EX gauge in Lost Judgment. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
