All you need to do is hold down RB on Xbox consoles or R1 on PlayStation consoles and then press the face button that corresponds to the power you want to use. Each face button will have a different power based on the party members you currently have with you, and will have their own meters tied to usage and cooldown.
You can use several SAS Powers at once if you have the right skills unlocked, and you have full control over when an ability is triggered.
