We’re now well and truly into Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5, as week 14 rolls around. That means that the season is coming to an end, and it’s time for another of Epic Games’ massive Fortnite end-of-season events. Here, we’ll be running through everything you need to know about the Fortnite Season 5 event so far.
We will continue to update this post as more leaks and tidbits are dropped over the coming weeks.
Fortnite Season 5 Event Release Date
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is set to end on March 15. As such, we’d expect the Fortnite Season 5 event to take place on March 14 or March 15 itself.
Epic Games has yet to officially announce or tease the Fortnite Season 5 event, but as soon as they do we’ll update this post with the exact time and date when the event is taking place.
What Will Happen in the Event?
Epic Games often keeps the specifics of its end of season events close to its chest, so we don’t know exactly what will happen yet.
However, we do know that the Zero Point at the center of Fortnite’s map has been very unstable throughout this season, so there’s a good chance it’ll be at the heart of the event.
Fortnite Season 5 Event Leaks
Update 03/10/21: We now know that the Fortnite Season 5 event will be a solo experience where we’ll play through the culmination of Agent Jones’ mission in the Zero Crisis finale. It will take place on March 16, with Season 6 starting immediately after players complete the mission.
Original Post: Following Fortnite’s 15.50 update yesterday, a number of dataminers on Twitter shared what appear to be leaks for the Season 5 event.
First off we’ve got FortTory who, alongside @gameshed_ discovered that the Zero Point will do something to players’ voice chat. It’s not clear exactly how it’ll affect our voice chat, but FortTory suggests it’s similar to what we saw in Fortnitemares where the Ghost had a strange voice in voicechat.
Moving on, HYPEX (via HeyStani) shared the Zero Point’s pulse effect which will seemingly take place at some point during the event.
Finally, Mang0e shared what appears to be ‘cues’ for teleporting NPC effects. They believe that this could be used for teleporting players and other characters to various different places, potentially off the Fortnite island altogether.
For now, we’ll just have to speculate and keep following any leaks until the Fortnite Season 5 event officially takes place in a couple week’s time. We’ll continue to update this post as soon as we have any more information to share with you.
