While Destruction Allstars is mostly about smashing into other players with your car, jumping out and running about on foot is an important part too. When driving, other players can jump onto the top of your car to try and wreck you or take over the driver’s seat. They’ve got to press a sequence of buttons to take over while you try and get them off. If a player jumps onto your car, the word Shakeoff will appear on the screen with what you have to do, but there’s a trick or two to doing it successfully.
How to Shakeoff Enemies in Destruction Allstars
While you might think you need to move the enemy on top of your car as much as possible, you’re actually looking to fill in the blue bar that’s above your car when you’re being taken over.
To fill it quickly just flick the left stick left and right as quickly as you can, making sure you’re going left and right as accurately as possible. If you can even slightly up or down, it won’t register and you’ll fail to complete the shakeoff.
You’re trying to fill your bar in before the enemy who’s on your car fills theirs (the orange one) in by pressing the sequence of buttons correctly. If you lose, you’ll be flung out of the car as it explodes or the enemy drives off in it. Now you need to try and find another ride.
If you successfully complete a shakeoff, you’ll get an extra point added to your score.
