Hitman 3: How to Change Difficulty

Agent 47 is back in the ‘World of Assassination’ with the release of Hitman 3 on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One and Series X|S and PC. The sandbox assassination gameplay is at the forefront of the experience once more, giving players the freedom to use their surroundings to take down each level’s targets as they see fit. However, if you’re struggling on the normal difficulty, or are looking for a tougher challenge, you may be wondering how to change difficulty in Hitman 3.

How to Change Difficulty Settings

To change Hitman 3’s difficulty, you’ll want to select the mission you want to play. Before you actually begin the level, you’ll have three option tabs — Objectives, Planning and Play.

In the Play tab, you’ll see three difficulty options. These are:

  • Casual
  • Professional
  • Master

Simply scroll over and select the difficulty setting you want to choose. This cannot be changed once you’ve started a mission, however, so choose wisely before you take control of Agent 47 in the world.

By default, the game should be set at the ‘Professional’ or Normal difficulty. However, if you’ve changed your Game/ App Preset settings on your PS5, this should automatically be changed to whatever you’ve selected here.

Are There Hitman 3 Difficulty Trophies/ Achievements?

The good news is that no, there are no trophies or achievements tied to the difficulty you play Hitman 3 on.

That being said, there are some that require you to reach Mastery Level 20 on each locale, or to assassinate your target’s in specific, creative ways, so if you’re looking to get the platinum trophy, you may need to replay some of the levels a few times to successfully complete them. These can be done on the easiest difficulty, however, which will make doing so a lot easier.

You can check out the complete Hitman 3 trophy and achievement list here.
