Before you can start collecting evidence, you’ll first need to locate the ghost itself. This is done by locating the ghost room, which will be a specific area or room in the level where it’s hanging around. At the start of the game, you’ll have very few tools at your disposal to try to locate it, but there is one surefire way to do so.

With the EMF reader equipped, you’ll want to start by scanning the entire house and look for a strong reading. EMF level 5 is one of the pieces of evidence you’ll need for determining a ghost’s type, but even levels 2 or 3 can be enough in pinpointing a ghost’s location.

Once the EMF reader starts beeping, head towards the indicated direction where the reading is strongest, and that will be your ghost room.

As you level up and earn more money, you’ll want to invest in the thermometer. The thermometer is the easiest way to identify a ghost room, as any room with a ghost in it will dip below 10 degrees Celsius. The temperature doesn’t need to be freezing either; as long as it’s below 10, you’re definitely in a ghost room.

For the larger maps, the parabolic microphone is a great starter tool to have as it can cover a large distance, and allow you to move towards areas that have a lot of sound and activity. Once you get closer to your destination, that’s when you can start using the thermometer to check the temperature and find the room.

That’s all you need to know about how to find a ghost room in Phasmophobia. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
