If you’re like most every other Spelunky 2 player, you’ve had the misfortune being poisoned, covering you in a corrosive green ooze that you have no idea of how to remove. Fortunately, we’ve been in the same boat, and are here to walk you through how to cure Poison in Spelunky 2 so the affliction won’t ruin any more of your runs.
How to Cure Poison in Spelunky 2
You’ll need to act fast to cure Poison in Spelunky 2, tracking down a certain ally found throughout every level and bringing them to its exit.
We’re referring, of course, to the game’s Pets, which can be rescued from every level in the game to grant you additional health. What the game doesn’t tell you, though, is that they also cure you of the Poison status effect, removing it and taking it upon themselves when they lick you during a level’s completion screen.
To that end, all you need to do when you find yourself Poisoned is track down the level’s pet and bring them back safely to the exit. You’ll then be cured of the status effect and enter the next level without having to worry about your health constantly decreasing.
Should you find yourself unable to reach the level’s Pet though, or if your pet dies before it reaches the exit, then we’ve got some bad news for you: There is no other way to cure Poison in Spelunky 2.
You’re only option will be to tough out the poison as best you can, restoring your health by killing Turkeys for their meat or using the Kapala to restore your health with kills in order to keep up with your health’s degradation. If you’re lucky, you might last long enough to reach the next level’s Pet and cure yourself before it’s too late.
