New Ninjala Dev Diary Dives Into Sonic the Hedgehog Collab Content

The developers of Ninjala took a deep dive into the Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration event, as well as a new battle mode called Featured Battle, in a new dev diary they released Wednesday night.

The Sonic the Hedgehog and Ninjala collaboration event will bring costumes and other content with motifs based on the members of Team Sonic: Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. Each costume is designed like a hoodie sweater with an initial logo ironed in the front that comes with a baseball hat designed to look like the heads of the respective characters.

There will also be a Gum Utsusemi resembling Dr. Eggman flying his hovercraft, as well as Sonic-themed IPPON decorations and stickers, which at the moment show only Sonic and Eggman.

You can get these way past cool items using the Jala currency within the game’s Select Shop.

The developers also discussed a new battle mode called Feature Battle, which will be added to the battle menu in an update scheduled for early October.

Featured Battle is basically where players will find limited-time casual event battle modes with goals and objectives that are separate from Battle Royale and Team Battle Modes.

The theme of the first Featured Battle is called Beast Attack!, which is fitting considering Halloween is around the corner.

Beast Attack is like tag, but a random player will take on the role of the Beast, chosen to be “it,” and all the other players will run away to avoid being tagged by the Beast. If regular players are tagged by the Beast, that player turns into the Beast and the player who was tagged first reverts back to ninja form.

A maximum of eight players will be able to participate in each round.

You can watch the entire dev diary video below.

The Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration event will run from Sept. 23 through Oct. 21.
