Even after you’ve caught up with all the main story content in Final Fantasy XIV, there’s still plenty of side content that you can get into as well. This includes crafting and gathering, which are essentially a whole other mini-game separate from the combat and story. Here’s how to get Tender Dill in FFXIV.
Getting Tender Dill in FFXIV
Tender Dill is a rare material that you can gather in FFXIV, and it’s one of the ingredients required to create the Defthand’s Dissolvent which, in turn, is used to craft the Aesthete gear set for crafters and gatherers. Since this gear set has the highest item level for crafting and gathering gear at the time of writing, it’s also one of the most sought after sets in the game.
To get the Tender Dill, you’ll first need to purchase the Tome of Botanical Folklore – Norvrandt from the Splendors vendor in Eulmore. This will cost you 40 Regional Folklore Trade Tokens, which can be purchased with Yellow Gatherers’ Scrips.
After purchasing and using the Tome, you’ll then be able to access the Legendary node that gives you the Tender Dill. The node itself is located at White Oil Falls in Kholusia, at the coordinates X:21, Y:21. The node will only be available at 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. Eorzea Time for one hour, so make sure to get in position when it’s ready.
Your Botanist needs to be at level 80 and have a recommended perception level of 1,440 in order to be able to gather effectively. Once you manage to get the Tender Dill, you’ll then be able to start crafting the Defthand’s Dissolvent (assuming you have the rest of the materials), and work your way towards getting the Aesthete set.
