If Hyuga is bearing down on the goal and is about to unleash a Neo Tiger Shot, then you better have a plan B if your defense doesn’t tackle the ball from him. Otherwise that ball is almost certainly going into the goal.
Some of the best keepers in the game like Wakabayashi and Wakashimazu might be able to make the save in that situation if they have a full Spirit bar. But lesser players will get smashed into the goal by a fully charged Super Shot.
But if you have a full V Gauge, then you’ll be able to even the odds, even against the best forwards in the game. The V Gauge is the yellow meter at the bottom of the screen located under the display of the player you’re currently controlling.
If the gauge is full and your opponent takes a shot, hold the L2 (PS) or ZL (NS) button. This will use up your entire V Gauge, but it will also assure that you save the incoming shot. Best of all, you get to watch a special save animation that only happens during a Super Save.
