Animal Crossing New Horizons has tons and tons of furniture for players to collect for decorative purposes, and if you’re looking for food-like items, there are some options there as well. While it’s not possible to actually bake or cook up food in Animal Crossing New Horizons, players can actually collect cake items in the game, which are used for a variety of purposes. Here’s how to get cake in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Getting Cake in Animal Crossing New Horizons
First off, it’s worth noting that if you’re looking to get cakes as display items for your island quickly, it is possible to check sites like Nook’s Island for custom designs. Some designs are made specifically for hats to get them to look like cake or other food items, and they can be displayed on stalls or tables.
However, if you want an actual cake item, you’ll have to wait till your birthday. On your birthday, log in to the game and your villagers will throw you a surprise party and you can collect birthday cupcakes after hitting a pinata.
These birthday cupcakes can be used as decorative items if you wish, but it’s definitely recommended that you give them to your guests at your birthday party in exchange for birthday-themed gifts. Apart from birthday celebrations, there isn’t any other way to obtain cake items in the game.
As always, it is possible that this could change with future updates in the game but as far as we know at this point in time, cupcakes are limited to birthdays. We’ll update this article if anything changes in the game going forward.
