Getting Hedges in Animal Crossing New Horizons

With the latest free update for the game, players will now be able to obtain hedges, which are a new type of fencing that certainly looks way more nature-y than most of the existing ones. These can be obtained as part of the Nature Day event, and you simply need to complete activities via the Nook Miles app to get the DIY Recipe.

Once you’ve installed the update in Animal Crossing New Horizons, check your Nook Miles app and check the + section. From here, you’ll occasionally get random Nature Day activities which reward you with five times the usual number of Nook Miles. After you complete your first activity and claim your Nook Miles, head to the Resident Services building and talk to Tom Nook. He’ll then hand over the DIY Recipe for hedge fencing.

How to Craft

The required materials for hedges are pretty basic, but can be a bit of a pain to gather especially if you’ve already pulled all the weeds from your island. The required materials are as follows:

  • Clump of weeds x10
  • Tree branch x5
  • Stone x2

Each craft gives you 10 hedge fences to work with, and they function basically like all other fencing items in the game. Select them from your inventory to start building, and you can hit the A button to place down hedges around your island.

That’s all you need to know about how to get hedges in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
