The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening is a gorgeous remake of the classic Game Boy game but with some added features and a more impressive visual style. If you’re wondering how to get to Mourning Mermaid, that mermaid statue in Martha’s Bay, then here’s what you need to do.
How to Get to Mourning Mermaid in Zelda Link’s Awakening
Once you begin to explore the area surrounding the Catfish’s Maw that is Martha’s Bay, you might find a stone mermaid statue that is out of reach.
By placing a mermaid scale onto the statue, it’ll reveal a secret staircase that’ll take you down to an area in which you’ll find the magnifying lens.
But, to get over to the area where the mourning mermaid statue is, you’ll first need to have obtained the hookshot item, which is actually found nearby in the fifth dungeon, Catfish’s Maw.
How to Get Hookshot
Once you go through the dungeon, you’ll find the hookshot organically in a treasure chest.
Now, just go around to the east side of the mermaid statue and you’ll see two wooden crates that are separated by a small cliff above water. Use the hookshot to pull yourself across the ledge and then you’ll have access to the mermaid statue.
To sum things up, here’s how to get to Mourning Mermaid
- Get the hookshot from Catfish’s Maw dungeon.
- Use the hookshot to pull yourself toward the wooden crate in Martha’s Bay.
