Conan Exiles Devs May Look Into CrossPlay, Tease More Story Content and Much More

Conan Exiles Developers teased a couple of interesting elements about the future of Funcom's survival game for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Today Funcom hosted a livestream with Lead Designer Alexander “Alex” Shumeyiko and Community Manager Jens Erik, and they had a few interesting points to make about the future of Conan Exiles.

First of all, we goy a couple of reasonably explicit teases about upcoming features. Apparently Alex really likes to wink on camera.

Looks like at some point we’ll be able to change the looks of our characters after beginning our adventure, which is a feature that many have been asking for and is currently impossible without mods.

On top of that, it appears that the team is planning to continue the story of the game (which at the moment ends a bit abrubptly) next year.

Additional information includes the fact that the team is going to try to address the balance of armor weight in the update that will introduce mounts in December.

Speaking of mounts, the initial implementation will only include horses. The team may add more kinds of ridable animals later “if able.”

Another apparently accidental reveal that is coming with Riders of Hyboria is an upcoming “pet leveling system rework.”

There is also “a plan to do something interesting for dark places where you don’t have to use a torch” but Alex opted not to reveal it for now. Trebuchet are also getting attention in the future.

Interestingly, we also hear about crossplay now that Sony has opened to it. Alex mentions that the developers did not have a plan in place for it, and they’ll have to look into it. He concluded mentioning that, if pissible, it would be fantastic.

Incidentally, if you’re currently being tortured by your thrall army moaning and groaning a storm, making your castle sound like a cattle farm, fear not, as the sounds are going to be removed in the next hotfix.
