Upcoming 24 Hour Pokemon Stream Promises Look at New Locale

The Pokemon Company invites fans to tune into a 24-hour stream of Pokémon Sword and Shield next week, teasing that attentive observers may find a few surprises.

Within the narrative of Sword and Shield, the stream will be set up by Sonia, Professor Magnolia’s assistant, and will take place in the Glimwood Tangle, a mysterious forest found deep within Galar.

The broadcast seems to mimic real-life nature streams, where a camera is set up in the wild for long durations of time and scientists or casual watchers can observe animal activity without directly interacting with them or endangering themselves.

The new format looks to be a fun new method of spreading information about Pokemon Sword and Shield, and no doubt Pokemaniacs will pore over every frame to find every minute detail they can. Hopefully, we can find a few new Pokémon native to the forest.

Here is The Pokémon Company’s official statement:

Starting at 6:00 a.m. PDT on Friday, October 4, we will broadcast live footage for 24 hours from a camera set up in Glimwood Tangle—a strange forest located deep within the Galar region.
This is your chance to get to know the various Pokémon that make their home in this forest! You may notice things that surprise you!

Sonia also sent out a message for those willing to help out with her research:

My name’s Sonia, and I’m a Pokémon researcher. Here in Galar, I’m always helping out with research for my gran—Professor Magnolia, that is!
I’m sending this message because I could really use your help with some research I’m doing.
Next week, a camera will be set up in a strange forest here in Galar known as Glimwood Tangle, and the camera will begin broadcasting live footage.
The broadcast will last for 24 hours! If you could take a gander when you have time, that’d be just great. Thanks in advance!

The Pokemon Company will broadcast the stream on its official Twitch and YouTube channels at 9 a.m. EDT on Friday, October 4, which will conclude at 9 a.m. on the following day.
