What Are the Overtime Challenges in Fortnite Season 9?

Simply put, these are a random assortment of challenges that give players something to do while we wait for the beginning of Fortnite Season 10 next week, now that the weekly challenges are done and dusted. You can check out all of the Season 9 Overtime challenges below.

How to Complete Fortnite Season 9 Overtime Challenges

  • Reach Battle Pass Tier 23, Tier 71, Tier 87

Chances are you’ll at least be Tier 71 from simply completing all of the weekly challenges in Season 9. Remember, you can always purchase Tiers with V-Bucks if you’re struggling to grind out the last few, but the XP from these challenges certainly looks like it’ll help with that.

  • Work Together with Friends to Get Eliminations (25)

Eliminating opponents with a friend is arguably the Overtime challenge that’s causing players a lot of problems so far in Season 9. That’s because both you and your friends must deal damage to an opponent to get eliminations to count for this challenge.

It’s not enough to just get an elimination with a friend. That means both you and a friend need to deal damage and eliminate 25 different players. Team Rumble is a great mode for completing this. The Fortnite Discord is a great place to try for finding other players to complete this challenge with.

  • Damage Opponents with Shotguns (Try Party Assist) (2,500)

As the challenge even suggests itself, you’ll want to try using Party Assist if you’re playing with friends to rack up shotgun damage to opponents quickly. Once again, the limited-time mode Team Rumble’s a great way to rack up tons of shotgun damage in a short space of time thanks to the tiny, final storm circle and the ability to respawn.

  • Visit Loot Lake, Polar Peak, and Pressure Plant

Not a whole lot that really needs to be said about this one, but you can find Loot Lake in the center north section of the map. Polar Peak, meanwhile is found in the southwest, while Pressure Plant is up in the northeast corner of the map right where the volcano is. These don’t have to be visited in the same match, either, making this incredibly easy.

  • Revive a Friend in Different Matches (3)

You’ll need to be in a Duos, Squads, or another team-based game mode with a friend to complete this Fortnite Season 9 Overtime challenge. When your friend goes down, simply walk over to them and press and hold X on Xbox One, Square on PS4, Y on Switch and E on PC to begin reviving them. Hold this for 10 seconds and they’ll be revived.

If you need a friend to help you out with this one, give the Fortnite Discord a try. You’ll be sure to find some volunteers also looking to complete the Overtime challenges on there that can help you grind them out.

  • Damage Opponents with Assault Rifles (5,000)

Much like the previous challenge of damaging opponents with shotguns, you’ll want to use Party Assist once again when playing with friends to help you rack up the 5,000 Assault Rifle damage required to complete this. Team Rumble, once again, will be your saving grace here.

  • Dance Inside a Holographic Durr Burger Head

The holographic Durr Burger Head has already been danced inside of as part of a weekly challenge that came earlier on in Season 9. You can check out our guide for how to dance inside a holographic Durr Burger head here.

  • Place Top 15 in Duos or Squads with a Friend (5)

There’s not a whole lot you really need to know about this, though we would say play in Squads rather than Duos. If you stick to the quieter spots, you’ll be able to run the player count in a game down far faster than in a Duos game.

  • Deal Damage with SMGs to Opponents (2,500)

Just like the other ‘damage-based’ challenges, use Party Assist and the Team Rumble game mode to your advantage to easily rack up the 2,500 points required. You’ll likely also work towards this a fair bit by eliminating opponents with a friend for the other challenge noted above.

  • Score a Goal on an Indoor Soccer Pitch

If you don’t know where the indoor soccer pitch is, how to score a goal on it, or anything else to do with this challenge, we run through everything you need to know to complete it right here.

That’s everything you need to know about how to complete all Fortnite Season 9 Overtime challenges. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out our ever-expanding Season 9 guide wiki.
