Good news for The Sims 4 fans: EA has unveiled the new expansion Island Living, a tropical locale that players can soon let their Sims loose in.

Revealed during EA’s Play 2019 stream, the new expansion allows players to take their Sims to a tropical paradise of Sulani, a location full of sun, sand, ocean waves and aquatic life ranging from Dolphins to mermaids.

In addition to a slew of different clothing and character customization options, Sims can also walk into and swim in water for a variety of water-based activities from snorkeling to aqua zips.

And that’s only the leisure activities available. Players can also take part in new careers and jobs, from being a lifeguard who watches out for other visitors to preserving the beauty of the island through conservation efforts.

The island is in turn heavily impacted by the players’ actions. Caring for the island and keeping it clean leads to it being more lush and beautiful, while exploiting its resources or littering can leave it looking foul and blemished.

Throw in the wide array of decor and architecture available for players to build abodes with – most all of which carry Polynesian inspirations – and there’s more than a bit available for players to dig into.

Fans can look forward to exploring The Sim’s 4: Island Living’s content for themselves when it officially releases on June 21 for PC and Mac, and July 16 for consoles. The trailer that came with the reveal for the expansion can be viewed below.

The Sims 4 expansion reveal was only one of several announcements made during the EA Play 2019 stream, held in proximity to E3 2019. Several other titles, from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to Madden 2020 saw new trailers and details revealed.
