How to Use Them

There are tons of items to be found in Cadence of Hyrule. Some will be automatically used when the situation calls for it, while others may require a button press from you.

As a general rule of thumb, if you take a look at the top right corner of your screen, you’ll see some items arranged in a straight row, with some arranged in a diamond. The items arranged in a row are equipment which can be used passively. For instance, the torch and shovels are passive items. So if you run into a sand wall, you’ll use the shovel automatically to clear it.

On the other hand, the items arranged in a diamond have to be manually activated. When you pick up an item in Cadence of Hyrule, it’ll automatically go to one of those quick slots, and you just have to press the corresponding button to use it.

So if you have a bomb in the right slot, you’ll press the A button to use it immediately.

How to Get Items

Items and weapons are all over the place in Cadence of Hyrule. You can find them lying around the world as you explore, and you just have to walk over them to pick them up. Some screens feature chests which can only be opened after you’ve killed all enemies in the area.

Other chests have special requirements, such as a time limit where you have to kill enemies before time runs out to open it.

They can be purchased with rupees when the shopkeeper is nearby —you’ll know he’s around when you hear his operatic vocals come in. Or if you happen to die, you’ll be able to spend your accrued diamonds to buy equipment to bring with you on your next run.

Your items and equipment can be organized from the menu. Just press the + button to bring up your inventory, and you can assign the quick slots for your items as well. Just hover over the item and press the face button assigned to the slot to put it there.

That’s all you need to know about how to use items in Cadence of Hyrule. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
