Many of the helpful weapons and abilities are hidden in Arks that are scattered throughout Rage 2‘s open world. One of those arks contains something that is both very useful and a lot of fun, but it’s not the easiest to locate. Here’s everything you need to know about where to find the Quake Hill Ark and what you’ll find inside.
Where to Find Quake Hill Ark & What It Contains in Rage 2
Where You’ll Find Its Location
While the Quake Hill Ark is pretty close to the point at which you start the game, it’s not somewhere you’re sent past, so it’s easy to miss. You can see on the map below where its exact location is.
It is in the Twisting Canyons region of the map, on the eastern coast. If you head to the coastal road on that side of the map and follow it south, you’ll come across a few buildings and you’ll be notified that the Quake Hill Ark is close by.
Head into the building at the end of the road and follow through the doors inside. After a few empty rooms, you’ll walk across a walkway that will break as you’re half way along. This is Rage 2’s way of introducing the power that you’ll find in the Ark.
You’ll see some glowing purple orbs on the ground that seem to explode. Once you get to a dead end, with an orb that keeps exploding, stand near it so that it sends you into the air when it pops. This should allow you to reach the ledge and wander into the Ark that’s just ahead.
What’s There & What Vortex Does
While you’ll find the following somewhere inside the Quake Hill Ark and the surrounding rooms, it is the Vortex that you’re after here.
- 1x Ark Chests
- 2x Storage Containers
- 3x Data Pads
Vortex is a powerful Nanotrite Power that allows you to throw an orb of energy, like the ones you encountered as you made your way into the Ark.
By holding R1 and pressing triangle (RB and Y if you’re on Xbox One), you can throw the Vortex orb where you’re aiming, which pulls enemies into it before exploding and causing damage.
It doesn’t harm you though, so you can throw one on the ground and walk over it to send you flying into the air, which is helpful for when you’re trying to reach high up places.
The Vortex power does have to recharge, though, so you can’t be using it constantly, no matter how much you’d want to.
