How to Give Orders to Guns for Hire in Far Cry New Dawn
Far Cry New Dawn brings back the Guns for Hire system that was first introduced in Far Cry 5, and they’re just as useful as ever. Here’s how to give orders to Guns for Hire in Far Cry New Dawn.
Just like in Far Cry 5, you’ll first need to recruit the Guns for Hire via side missions. Most of these side missions can be gotten from NPCs in outposts and within Prosperity itself. Once you have the mission, complete it to successfully recruit your new ally to help you out in battle.
While your Guns for Hire are deployed in Far Cry New Dawn, you’ll also be able to give them orders. Tapping right on the d-pad will get them to follow you, and they’ll go straight to your current position in the game. This is good if you want to regroup, or if you need immediate help from your ally.
You can also tap left on the d-pad while looking at a location to send them there. This is great for positioning your Guns for Hire right before you attack an enemy camp or outpost in Far Cry New Dawn.
If you’re looking at an enemy, you can also press left on the d-pad to mark them, and your ally will automatically move to go attack them, which is great for certain stealthy strategies.
By and large, your Guns for Hire will always engage in combat when the enemy has spotted you, and they’ll also stay in your general vicinity as you’re moving around. But making use of the commands and giving them orders will allow you to be more effective in combat.
