How Long Yakuza Kiwami 2 Is and How Many Chapters It Has

Despite just getting Yakuza 6: The Song of Life a few months back, Sega is bringing us another Yakuza game with Yakuza Kiwami 2. The newest entry in the series completely remakes the original Yakuza 2 with the new Dragon Engine, adding in a new combat system, new minigames, an entirely new story section focusing on Goro Majima, and more. Like always, there’s a ton of different content to dig into, but you’re probably wondering just how long Yakuza Kiwami 2 will take.

Just like the original game, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is made up of 16 main story chapters, all of varying length. If you want to just run straight through the main story and ignore most of the side content, you’re looking at roughly 15-20 hours depending on the difficulty you play on. Of course, adding in side content severely bumps up this playtime and doing all of the substories, minigames, and the completion list can add on tens of hours. For our own playthrough, we completed the majority of substories, played a majority of the minigames, and spent time exploring the city, clocking in at roughly 45 hours. There’s also the new Majima Saga story content that adds another 2-4 hours of playtime.

Needless to say you can spend a ton of time with Yakuza Kiwami 2, and there’s no shortage of fun things to do. We honestly recommend investing time in the substories, cabaret club, and clan creator especially. Not only do these provide some unique gameplay mechanics and minigame, but they also have some of the best and funniest story content you can find in the game.
