How to Unlock the Dark Iron Dwarf Race
The World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth expansion is out on August 14, 2018 and with it, is the addition of a variety of allied races to play as. During the Battle for Azeroth expansion you will need to earn the trust of these allied races before you are able to recruit them to your cause and unlock them as a playable race. One of these is the Dark Iron Dwarf race.
In order to unlock the Dark Iron Dwarf race during the Battle for Azeroth you must complete two steps, though these will take quite a bit of playtime to do so. The first requirement of unlocking this race is to earn the achievement Ready for War. This will be earned by working your way through the War Campaign throughout the expansion. The War Campaign during Battle for Azeroth functions similarly to that of the Order Hall Campaign from Legion. This could realistically take several weeks of gameplay to complete in full.
On top of this you must also reach exalted reputation with the 7th Legion. This faction will become available through playing the War Campaign. This elite unit of the Alliance military has been tasked with maintaining footholds throughout Kul Tiras and Zandalar. Through partaking in missions that will disrupt Horde forces in the new continent, players will grow their reputation with the faction.
And while the grinding involved may seem simple enough, these missions will take you into enemy territory where you will be at risk of PvP attacks from the opposing faction. With War Mode enabled, however, you will have access to all of your PvP talents while completing missions in the world. On top of this, gear and level scaling is enabled to ensure random PVv encounters are more balanced while having no impact on PvE.
Once these requirements have been met you will be able to gain access to the Dark Iron Dwarf race during character creation.
