Taking revenge on the humans of Wallachia who wrongfully murdered his wife, Dracula is back and it’s up to Trevor Belmont to take up arms once again to stop the vampire in his tracks. The Castlevania series on Netflix – based on Konami’s gothic video game franchise – is about to premiere its second season on Oct 26 and a new trailer (via Gematsu) has been released that shows off all kinds of action, magic, and blood – lots and lots of blood. You can check out the trailer below:
The first season of Castlevania premiered last summer on the streaming service with only four short episodes, sort of acting as a test to see if it would grab the viewers attention and boy did it. On the same day that the series premiered, Netflix renewed it for a second season that would include a whopping eight-episode arc this time around, giving us more of that sweet sweet vampire-fighting action that the first season provided us with.
Meanwhile, according to the voice actor who plays Trevor Belmont, Richard Armitage, Castlevania has already been greenlit by Netflix for a third season. He also talked about how he would love to see a live-action version of Castlevania one day: “I feel like it would make the most brilliant live-action piece. It’s slightly anarchic and humorous – we don’t often see vampire heroics in that vein. One day, maybe.”
The second season of Castlevania is set to premiere on Oct 26.
