Is Totally Accurate Battlegrounds Coming to Xbox One?

Recommended Videos

It figures in the modern era of gaming that a project that started off as an April Fool’s joke would end up becoming the hot new contender for the battle royale throne, but that’s exactly where Landfall finds themselves in after unleashing Totally Accurate Battlegrounds on an unsuspecting world this week. Featuring ragdoll physics and absurd-looking character models, it is intended to be a tongue-in-cheek facsimile of the hottest competitive games currently doing the rounds, but it has quickly risen to be a hot talking point – so the question, then, is whether it is going to be making the jump to console, and more specifically Xbox One, also known as the only non-PC/mobile platform to currently house battle royale sensation, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds?

There isn’t a firm answer at this early juncture (cue angry comments), but with the newfound success that Totally Accurate Battlegrounds has brought the Swedish developer, the likelihood of an Xbox One conversion is tenuous, but not exactly improbable. To this point, most of its releases had been exclusive to Steam – save for the multiplatform release of Clustertruck – but Totally Accurate Battlegrounds has hit new heights that even they hadn’t anticipated (this much is clear just from the number of server issues if nothing else). Any port will depend largely on how much that momentum lasts moving forward.

It has been expressed at length that the Xbox One is in a dire need of exclusives, and if PUBG is any indication, Microsoft has shown a willingness to latch onto the new trends if it thinks it will gain any traction. E3 is much too close to expect any kind of Xbox One announcement, but it will be a time when interest in video games is at its height; an opportunity for the Totally Accurate Battlegrounds community to grow and show that this is a game that’s here to stay. This is definitely one to watch, going forward, so have your frying pans and your flailing limbs at the ready.

That’s all you need to know currently regarding a potential Xbox One version of Totally Accurate Battlegrounds. We’ll be sure to update this post if anything happens to change. For more on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
