Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first trailer for The Lego Movie 2, and it’s probably not what everyone was expecting. It turns out the events of Taco Tuesday were a lot worse than everyone thought, as the world has turned into a post-apocalyptic wasteland, although there’s probably more of an explanation than that. Everyone has adjusted to their harsh new life, well, everyone except Emmet Brickowski.
The trailer shows a bit of the setup and story for the sequel, as a mysterious spaceship comes to the wasteland and starts abducting people. It’s up to Emmet to get a spaceship together and go save friends. It seems that trademark Lego humor is alive and well, with things like heart Lego’s that say hello and then explode.
