New Mass Effect: Andromeda Gameplay Shown Off at PAX East

Loyalty missions make a return.

Mass Effect: Andromeda isn’t far off release now, and BioWare showed off some gameplay footage during a PAX East panel this week.

The footage shown off showcases one of Mass Effect 2’s most interesting staples: the loyalty mission. The gameplay video below was captured by DualShockers. There is a fair amount of combat, and there are even sequences where the player dies. You shouldn’t give this one a watch if you’re worried about spoilers.

After being left out of Mass Effect 3, loyalty missions make a return – it’s a good thing too, given that they add so much to the back story of your team mates as they each get their own dedicated missions.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is scheduled for release on March 21 and is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. There’s going to be a free trial available through the EA Origins Access programs a few days earlier on March 16 for Xbox One and PC. The trial will run for ten hours and will allow players to try the single player and multiplayer, with the campaign allowing a set number of missions only.
