Level-5, publisher and developer behind the Layton series, has announced Layton Mystery Detective Agency: Kat’s Mystery-Solving Files, a new anime that is set to premiere in the spring of 2018. The anime, no doubt, will star the titular hero from the latest entry in the Layton franchise and will introduce us to new characters and will seemingly take place after the events of the game.

Here’s a synopsis of the anime’s story from the official site for the series:

“Any mystery solved, that is the motto of the Layton Detective Agency.” Professor Layton’s daughter, Katrielle Layton, runs the Layton Detective Agency together with the talking dog Sherl and her assistant Ernest Greeves, and solves the mysterious cases that occur each day in London. Originally, Katrielle started this work with the goal of finding her father, Hershel Layton, who suddenly disappeared, but her mystery-solving gradually became a hot topic due to its unexpected concept, leading various requests to come flying in.”

Level – 5 has promised that there would be a Layton anime in the works for 2018, and they surely delivered. Are you guys excited to watch Katrielle on the small screen? We know we are!
