All Video Game Releases for January 2018

A new beginning.

With the stellar year for video game releases that was 2017 all but over, it is time to look ahead to what is coming out in January 2018. Traditionally a rather slow month, January 2017 saw the likes of Yakuza 0 and Resident Evil 7 release. While the first month of 2018 is looking quiet in terms of the number of releases, there are some titles coming that will surely be very popular.

The two stands outs in January are Dragon Ball FighterZ, which is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and Monster Hunter: World, which comes to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, both of which release on Jan. 26. Dragon Ball FighterZ is likely to be popular in both the Dragon Ball and fighting game communities while Monster Hunter: World will see the debut of the giant monster slaying series on current generation consoles, hoping to introduce it to a wider audience.

There are some other interesting releases, however. Supermassive Games’ The Inpatient brings the Until Dawn flavor of horror to PlayStation VR on Jan. 23. The first Call of Duty: WW2 DLC pack, The Resistance, debuts on PlayStation 4 at the end of the month, and Celeste, the next game from the creators of the excellent Towerfall Ascension, releases sometime this coming month. Here’s the full list of releases in January 2018. Are you picking any of these up?
