How to Find All Memory Locations – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
When you first get your Sheikah Slate fixed by Purah and return to Impa, you’ll be given the Locked Mementos quest. Inside of your fixed slate are 12 photos that Zelda took in order help Link regain his memories after he awoke from his 100-year slumber. The pictures don’t just give you the memory though, you’ll have to head to the photos’ locations, which can be a bit tough to find. On top of the 12 photos, there are 6 more memories for a total of 18. If you collect all 18 before facing Calamity Ganon, you will unlock the game’s true ending.
Photo Memory Locations
1 (photo 1) – This one is located in Hyrule Field, right in front of the castle that Ganon has taken over. There are a ton of powerful enemies here so be careful, but sneak up to the large ruins in front of the gate where you’ll find the circle with the Tri-Force emblazoned in its center. There will be a glowing light that you can interact with to collect this memory.
3 (photo 2) – Head to the lake just to the south of Hyrule Field. Slightly to the west is where you’ll find this memory among the trees.
5 (photo 3) – You’ll need to head to the Tena Ko’sah Shrine in the western part of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s map, near Tanagar Canyon. South of the shrine is the memory, you should see it quickly after arriving at the Shrine.
7 (photo 4) – This memory location is in an oasis in the southwestern part of the game’s map (Gerudo). You can see it if you zoom into the northeastern part of Gerudo. You can climb to get here, or glide from the nearby Shrine.
8 (Photo 5) – Don’t go for this one until you have some heat resistant food or clothing. It’s located at the lower left corner of the huge volcano in Eldin. It’s just east of the Minshani Woods, and west of Goronbi Lake. There will be a circle of stones on the ground — that’s what you’re looking for.
9 (Photo 6) – To the Northwest of Hyrule Castle you’ll find a large tree near a huge body of water. The tree will be on a hill overlooking the castle. The memory is right next to the tree. If you happened to have Ridgeland Tower unlocked. You can easily glide here by heading northeast from the tower.
11 (photo 7) – Head to the northeast of the Bridge of Hylia, starting from the side closes to the Great Plateau. If you follow the lake you’ll eventually spot the tree in the photo. Glide over to it and search nearby for the memory.
12 (photo 8) – We recommend saving this one for when you’re more powerful. You’ll have to enter Hyrule Castle, which is an endgame area, and head to the northwest of the castle. You’re looking for a large tower standing on its own. The bridge that leads to the tower holds the memory.
13 (photo 9) – Head to the Akkala Tower (northeast of the map) the follow the path that goes north in order to find the entrance to the Spring of Power.
14 (photo 10) – The horse statue from this photo isn’t too difficult to find. It’s in the Central Hyrule area. When you unlock the map using the tower, look for the Sanidin Park Ruins to the west of the castle then head there.
15 (photo 11) – Head to the Lanaryu Road – East Gate. which is just to the Nortwest of Purifier Lake, north of Hateno Village. The road is easy to see if you zoom in on the map.
16 (Photo 12) – Locate Wetland Stables in Central Hyrule, then head slightly southwest. Hidden nearby, in the trees, is this memory.
17 (After All Photos) – Once you find the locations in each of the 12 photos, head back to Impa and she’ll tell you where to find memory number 17. It’s just East of Dueling Peaks Stables, where you see all of the destroyed Gaurdians. Just look around and you’ll see the glowing circle you can interact with.

The remaining memories are obtained by completing certain parts of the story. Numbers 2, 4, 6, and 10 are obtained from defeating each of the Divine Beasts. Number 18 is obtained by collecting the Master Sword.
