Fallout 4: Far Harbor – How to Get Three New Dogs for Your Settlements

New pets!

Dogs truly are man’s best friend, and Fallout 4 has helped to prove that. Just look at how Dogmeat does his best to keep you alive, and now Far Harbor allows you get three more of these lovely (we use that term a bit loosely) animals.

It should be noted that the new dogs you’re able to get aren’t companions. They instead are used to guard your settlements. While you can’t bring them with you on your adventures, you’ll still grow to love them just the same, trust me.

As you play through Far Harbor, you’ll come across a man named Erickson at Horizon Flight 1207 located in the southwestern region of the map (it’s a crashed airplane). He’s a bit uneasy when you first meet and will ask you to holster your weapon so you two can talk. Make sure you choose to tell him to “Stay Calm.” That will make Erickson a bit more relaxed and willing to sell to you. Any other option and he’s likely to start a fight, meaning you’ll have to kill him and you can’t buy your new pets.

There are three options, each costing 250 Caps. If you were thinking about choosing just one, don’t. Buy them all, they need a good home. Your three options are:

  • Mishka – A beautiful, grayish wolf.
  • Duke – A dog.
  • Gracie – A stout Mutant Hound.

You can actually purchase more than one of each type, but not at one time. If you want two Mutant Hounds for whatever reason, after you buy one you will have to wait a few days for him to train another. He’ll give you the time and you can just use the wait mechanic and come back.
