Crackdown 3 – Feb. 15
It feels like it’s been years since Crackdown 3 was first announced. Wait, that’s because it was literally over four years since Microsoft announced it. But huzzah, it’s finally here, complete with Terry Crews voicing the protagonist, and the all-exciting multiplayer destruction mode.
For those unfamiliar with the Crackdown series, let us give you a quick sales pitch. It involves you controlling a superhero-esque police agent as you go about taking down crime organizations littered across an open world.
As you progress, you level up your powers until you’re literally jumping off the ground to the tops of skyscrapers and running as fast as cars. It’s great.
Further, Crackdown 3’s set to add in a multiplayer mode to show off what the “power of the cloud” can do. Microsoft Azure will power the Crackdown 3 multiplayer engine, and allow for full-scale destruction across the entire city.
We’re pretty excited to dive straight into the multiplayer carnage, but as long as the campaign holds up, Crackdown 3 looks like the bombastic action that Xbox One fans have been waiting for. Though, we will say we’re a little concerned at how quiet Crackdown 3’s marketing is just over a week from launch.
