How to Wake Up Sleeping Statues in Yooka-Laylee

Recommended Videos

As you’re making your way through the first Grand Tome in Yooka-Laylee, you will likely spot a bunch of sleeping statues. These sleeping statues are actually pretty important for navigating the world, as they’ll have a platform nearby that will be invisible until you wake them up.

To wake up the sleeping statues in Yooka-Laylee, you’ll need to get the Sonar Shot move from Trowzer the Snake. In Tribalstack Tropics, he’s in what looks like an Aztec temple right in front of you from where you start. Speak to him and pick up the Sonar Shot move for 30 Quills. If you’ve yet to get enough Quills to purchase the move, simply go exploring the world. There are 200 Quills in each world, so finding enough shouldn’t take you too long.

Once you’ve got the Sonar Shot move, simply face one of Yooka-Laylee’s sleeping statues and press Y (Triangle on PS4). This will lead to chimes playing and the statue waking up. The nearby platform that was previously invisible should now be revealed, allowing you to hop on and make your way to the previously unreachable area.
