How to Expand Grand Tomes in Yooka-Laylee & Why You Should

Recommended Videos

While Yooka-Laylee’s Grand Tomes are by no means small, there’s plenty of potential to make them even bigger. That’s where you’ll want to know how to expand Grand Tomes in the game, and more importantly, why you should even bother.

When you first unlock a Grand Tome by spending your hard-earned Pagies, you won’t actually unlock the full extent of the world. Instead, you’ll need to spend some more Pagies to expand it and gain full access to every challenge and some new areas, too.

To do this, make your way to the Grand Tome you want to expand and stand on the button just before it. Press A (X on PS4) to interact with the button and a Pagie will appear confirming you want to spend some Pagies expanding the Grand Tome. Simply confirm your choice and as long as you have enough Pagies, the book will grow in size. Now, jump into the world and you’ll be shown a quick cutscene highlighting the new additions and areas that you’ll be able to explore.

If you choose not to expand Grand Tomes, you’re locking yourself out of a ton of Pagies. Each Grand Tome can only be expanded once, so don’t worry, you won’t be spending tons of Pagies expanding them over and over.

That’s all you need to know about how to expand Grand Tomes in Yooka-Laylee. For more tips, guide, and information on the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
