The Witness: Jungle Laser Puzzles Walkthrough

The group of puzzles leading up to the activation of the jungle laser is one of the shortest sections in The Witness but the rule is one of the most interesting.

The jungle laser puzzles revolve around sound, making them very different to the other puzzles in The Witness. Therefore, you can’t listen to your own music and you may want to use headphones to ensure your focus is not interrupted. In each puzzle you need to match the sound made by the bird with the line you draw on the puzzle. If the bird’s tweet is high-pitched, move the line up, and down for low-pitched tweets.

The start of the puzzles is in the jungle behind the monastery. When you see a few puzzle that cannot be solved, there is a passage nearby that will take you to a set of three puzzles. This is when the chain of puzzles leading to the laser begins. The three puzzles are quite simple but get one wrong and you are locked out of the puzzle. See the solutions below.

After the first three puzzles, follow the yellow wire down the path ahead.

You will see four more puzzles. Same rules as before apply but here the sounds are interrupted by things such as phones ringing. It can be difficult to hear so you need to concentrate. See the solutions to these four puzzles below.

When you’ve managed to block out the sounds of phones ringing it is time to head to another part of the jungle.

Next, don’t follow the wire off to the right. It would take you up the hill and you would have to make your way over the stream and around. It can be done but the easier way to go is off to the right, past the tree and up the stepped path to the right, taking you to where the wire comes out.

Here you will see a simple straight line puzzle that activates a piece of the ground in front of you. The puzzles are on the other side so make your way round in any way you can. The puzzles on the obstruction are quite difficult so see the solutions below.

That is the final puzzle so it’s now time to activate that laser.

Solving these puzzles will activate a pink wire. Follow it to a maze of bamboo trees being sure to keep heading forward or you will get lost. You will see the laser in a little clearing. Activate it with the simple puzzle and another laser in The Witness is done and a gold trophy will pop.
