How to Use the Jetpack – No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky is Hello Games’ massive sci-fi adventure filled with spaceships, alien blasters, and weird animals to discover. It’s full of planets to see and things to do, with exploration being a big part of the game’s core mechanics. Naturally, you’re going to want to get around planets faster than you would with your simple feet. That’s where the jetpack comes in.

In No Man’s Sky, you start right off with the jetpack. Convenient! No going around doing quests to get one. No, you can get to flying straight away. In order to use it, simply jump up and hold the jump button. You’ll be airborne in no time and able to reach places you normally wouldn’t have been able to, or see further over the horizon.

Do keep an eye on the jetpack meter on the lower right-hand corner, though! It appears only when you’re using or charging your flying contraption. You’re not able to fly forever, as your jetpack will need charging (though it does this all by itself, so long as it’s not in use). And, if you happen to make a mistake and plummet to your demise, keep in mind that the game does feature fall damage. So, you know, try not to fall.
