HOW TO SAVE IN RIME
Tequila Works’ new game, Rime, is out now for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It features tricky puzzles but also traitorous cliff faces that could see you fall to your death. You will want to make sure that the game has saved so that you don’t lose too much progress if and when you die.
Unfortunately, you cannot save manually in Rime. There is no way to save via the menu or a particular action that will guarantee that the game will save, you have to wait for the game to autosave, which happens whenever you complete a puzzle, move to the next section of the island, or finish a cutscene. It saves automatically quite frequently so losing progress shouldn’t be too much of a worry.
You’ll be able to tell when Rime is saving because a little shell icon will be visible in the top right hand corner of the screen. Once that has disappeared again, the game will have saved. Therefore, if you were to fail a section or the protagonist was to die, you would return to that moment in the game.
