How to Use the Fabricator in Prey

Recommended Videos

The Fabricator is a key part of the crafting process in Prey. In fact, it’s the machine that’ll do all the crafting for you. As such, you’ll want to get used to this machine as soon as you can and start making the most of it.

First things first, a Fabricator won’t just let you craft weapons or ammo from just anything. You’ll need to break down other items with the Recycler to get crafting materials. Once you’ve got these, simply make your way to one of the machines and press Start on the screen.

You’ll then be shown all of the items you can currently craft. Select the one you want to craft by pressing Square/ X when the on-screen hand is highlighting it. The Fabricator will then show you what resources you’ll need to make the item. Load these into the machine just underneath the screen. Look back up and select the option to begin crafting your chosen item.

After the machine has done its thing, your chosen item will be dispensed out of the center of the Fabricator. And that’s all you need to know to use this convenient machine in Prey.
