NieR: Automata – How to Unlock and Equip Accessories

Gotta look pretty.

NieR: Automata – Equipping Accessories

Recommended Videos

While you can’t equip different kinds of armor and change up your appearance in NieR: Automata, you can still customize 2B’s appearance a little bit with cool accessories. From what we’ve played so far, there don’t seem to be too many accessories in the game, and the ones we’ve found were rewards from side missions.

The Blue and Pink Ribbons can be obtained as rewards for doing the Lost Girl side mission, which requires you to escort a machine back to Pascal’s Village. The Alien Mask is another cool head accessory that can be unlocked by completing the Half-Wit Inventor side quest. After you’ve given the inventor enough money, he’ll set up a new shop, and you can purchase the Alien Mask from him.

Conversations between 2B and the Operator also suggest that it’s possible to unlock a Lunar Tear accessory, but we haven’t been able to find it just yet.

To equip these accessories, bring up your main menu and go to the Items tab. Under Key Items, you’ll find the accessories that you’ve unlocked on your journey. Simply select the one you wish to equip, and then hit the Equip option. You’ll now be able to walk around with ribbons in your hair.
